DESCRIPTION:National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer\, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore\, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The 2023 National Night Out marks its 40th year. \nMillions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all 50 states\, U.S. territories\, and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. Neighborhoods host block parties\, festivals\, parades\, cookouts\, and various other community events with safety demonstrations\, seminars\, youth events\, visits from emergency personnel\, exhibits and much\, much more. \nBay City Department of Public Safety is hosting the Annual National Night Out on Tuesday\, August 1st\, from 5pm to 8pm at Wenonah Park (Downtown Bay City). Nearly 100 vendors are scheduled to participate\, including several community businesses\, non-profits\, and other service organizations\, all entities working to provide a fun night for families. The event will have games and prizes for kids and adults. There will be public safety vehicles\, as well as other municipal vehicles on site\, such as fire trucks\, ambulances\, and more! There will also be live music\, food\, and the Best Dish Contest where local restaurants compete.\nThis is a free event for the public\, with food and prizes being donated by area businesses.
