In case you haven’t heard on NBC, NPR, this website or anywhere & everywhere else, the First Annual Kid’s Block Party is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. THIS Saturday, September 29, all around the Delta Planetarium in downtown Bay City!
With a free jump house and face painting for all, sandwiches and the likes offered for free, a photo booth, kid tattoos, a scavenger hunt, cotton candy, arts and crafts galore, belly dancers….You don’t want to miss this family-friendly, as free-as-can-possibly-be, all-around fantastic event, put on by the Great (Lakes Bay) Moms. Prepare for fun in a big, Big, BIG way!
And please–Don’t Forget–The Kid’s Block Party is also the kick-off for the Bay Arenac Great Start Diaper Drive! Help fill a bus with diapers! Yes. A BUS. Not a car, or even a mini-van, but a BUS! Diapers are a major necessity, and a major expense for many. Toss in a bag of diapers, any size/brand/type, and then wander through the streets Filled With Fun!
“The kids are going to be so happy, and there’s going to be so much to do!” Kate Cardinali, designer and creator of www.greatlakesbaymoms.com, said. “And the parents should walk away realizing that ‘there is all this amazing stuff in our area, and we really need to take advantage of it’.”
Water St., from the Delta Planetarium to Studio 23, and Center Ave. from the Planetarium half way to Saginaw Street will be chocked-full with, well…FUN!

- On the Corner of Center and Water: The bounce house/carnival games; State Police car; Bay Regional Ambulance; Walmart Deli; And even Raqs Mystique Belly Dancers on the corner of Center Ave. and Water St.
- On Water Street: The Bay City Fire House-Smoke House; Portraits by Rachel Starr, including kid tattoos; Sweet Dreams Fundraising- Fresh Cotton Candy & Kaleidoscope Kandy; A large tractor for play; Tri-City Cheese & Meats, Inc.; Bay County Library System; Blue Martini Designs and many, many more!
