There are plants spouting up all around us this summer, so it’s a great time to teach your little tykes about the different components of a flower. These fun ideas will help you figure out just how to do that!

Activities:
This easy activity has a BIG impact! After you complete this activity, your kiddos will be able to share, explain, and show what they know about the parts of a flower.
What You Need:
- Multi-colored tissue paper
- Liquid glue
- Scissors
- Green construction paper
- White construction paper
- Markers
- Brown crinkle gift tinsel
Directions:
- Draw a large flower on white construction paper
- Invite your child to cut out the flower
- Have your child build those little muscles in their fingers by tearing the tissue paper and rolling it into little balls before gluing them all over the large flower cutout
- Create a stem and leaves out of green construction paper (either draw a stem and leaves for your child to practice their cutting skills, or have them draw their own)
- Add brown crinkle gift tinsel to the bottom of the stem to act as roots for some extra detail.
- Finally, add the parts of the flower and you have a complete diagram for your kids to share with others
Make a Flower For Mom!
This is an adorable project for the little ones! My little guy created these tulips last week at his baby playgroup. All you need is washable paint, construction paper, glue, and scissors. What a Great idea! Thanks Bay City ISD! He was so proud to show it to Daddy and his older brother!
Make A Flower Garden
I really like this activity because it’s a simple, and easy go-to activity at anytime!
What You Need:
- Washable Paint
- Scissors
- White construction paper
- Toilet paper rolls
Directions:
- Cut toilet paper rolls to look like petals of a flower
- Dip in paint and use as a stamp on the construction paper
- Add stems and leaves to your picture with markers
Plant A Flower Sensory Table
I absolutely love the sensory table! My little guy and I had a blast planting and, of course, “un-planting” the flowers! I bet you can guess what his favorite part was! Thanks Ann, for the GREAT activity!

Surprise your favorite little people with a special little snack.
Turn a plain old sandwich into a fun and exciting lunch with a cookie cutter!
Use a pancake form to create a blooming breakfast any little one would enjoy!
Invite your kids to “play with their food” by creating colorful and yummy flowers out 
of their fruits!
