Fun gifts to make with your kiddos this holiday season!

Hillary is a mom of two very energetic and inquisitive boys – who keep her on her toes. When not working on Great Lakes Bay Moms or spending time with the hubs and two boys she enjoys rowing on the bay city rowing team, baking, girls nights, shopping and traveling!

Every year I try to come up with a gift that my boys can make for their Grandmas and Great- Grandmas. We are very blessed to make five every year. With that being said, the gift that I choose – needs to be easy and not have too many steps. It has to keep a seven and two year olds interest.

Here are a few that we have done in the past and some that I thought looked like a lot of fun! I’m a sucker for anything with my kids handprints or footprints on them.  I think we are going to make the cake stand this year, I’m going to have each one of the boys put their handprint on the back along with their name and the date. Don’t forget to use a sharpie marker so it doesn’t come off while they are washing it!   I’ll add a box cake mix and some frosting- perfect keepsake that is useable!!

Such a fun idea!

From the Book Lady, "cheap, plastic, transparent pony beads in a 12" metal cake pan. It took quite a few, as I wanted the 'plate' to be thick enough to support the weight of a cake. Then, I baked the beads at 425 degrees for 30-40 minutes...until all the beads had completely melted. I let this cool in the pan for about 20 minutes, then popped it out of the pan (it came right out...really!) Next, I glued it onto a dollar store candle stick with E6000 glue."
