Unique Collections at Bay County Library System
Did you know that libraries are so much more than books? Today I’m thrilled to tell you about some hot new collections that we carry at Bay County Library System (BCLS). Even though these special collections may only be on the shelf at a designated branch, we are able to deliver them to any of our other locations for you! Use our online catalog at www.baycountylibrary.org or ask a staff member for assistance. All of these items are available to be borrowed for FREE!
Cake Pans (Auburn Library)
BCLS now offers nearly two dozen specialty cake pans and baking molds such as Darth Vader, Mickey Mouse, LEGO, cake pops, castle, and many more! Limit: 2 per card
Circulating Tablets (Wirt Library)
Launchpads are circulating tablets that come pre-loaded with educational apps for kids. No wi-fi necessary! Perfect for car trips or rainy days. We have Launchpads for children from preschool age to the end of elementary school. Limit: 1 per card.
MP3 Player Audiobooks (Wirt Library)
Going out of town? Take a Playaway with you! These pocket-sized MP3 players come pre-loaded with an audiobook. Perfect for elementary school kids. Requires 1 AAA battery and headphones. Limit: 25 Playaways per card.
Seed Library (Wirt Library)
In collaboration with Bay City Cooperative Market, we have a seasonal Seed Library on the 2nd floor of Wirt Library. A packet of seeds checks out just like a book, grown in your garden, and then you can return a harvested portion of seeds to the library to be shared again! A wonderful opportunity for the whole family! Limit: 10 packets per card.
STEAM Kits (Sage Library)
Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math with our kits! Kits include educational and fun toys on topics like robotics, dinosaurs, and sound. Age ranges vary. Contact the Sage Library with any questions. Limit: 1 STEAM kit per card.
As you can see, today’s library branches are so much more than books! We hope you will stop in sometime and see all of the awesome things we have available for borrowing. Check our website for hours and locations: www.baycountylibrary.org/hours-locations/
