2020 CENSUS: I Made Michigan $90,000 Today!

Census 2020

Today I did something important for you, for me, and for everyone who lives in Michigan. I completed the 2020 Census. By including all five members of my family in the count, our great state will receive approximately $90,000 of federal funds over the next 10-years!

Census data will be used for the next 10-years to decide local funding.  Each person counted equals about $1,800 a year in funding.

LET’S DO THE MATH:

$1,800 x 10 years = $18,000

Family of 5($1,800) x 10 years = $90,000

How will this HELP YOU?

It helps our Children – This 2020 Census funding goes to WIC, Medicaid, school lunches, foster care, and special education.

It helps our Families – Provides funds that feed families, provide homes and shelter, support learning of all kinds, create parks and playgrounds, and make our cities and towns better.

It helps our Seniors (our Grandparents) – Census data directs dollars to funding for Medicare, housing assistance, Meals on Wheels and other programs to keep our seniors vibrant into their golden years.

It helps our Vets (our Heroes) – Census data directs dollars to important community programs like veteran health care and services.

It helps Everyone (You and Me) – Funds help keep roads, bridges and public transportation safe and drivable.

What you need to do?

Several weeks ago I received mail from the U.S. Census Bureau, that contained my Census ID number.

I went to the to my2020census.gov, filled in my ID number and started answering questions.  If you don’t have your number click on the button below the login that says: “If you do not have a Census ID, click here.”

The questions are simple and took me less than 10 minutes to complete.  It asked for each person in my household’s age, name, gender, birthday, race/ethnicity, relationship to head-of-household, owner or renter and phone number.

It was the easiest and quickest $90, 000 I will ever make for myself and my community.

Now it is your turn and be sure to count everyone in your household!
