A New Twist On Halloween Classics: “Candy Apples” and “Creepy Crawling Details”

Written by Traci Jaime

Candy Apples-

Candy apples are a delicious fall treat, but let’s face it; they are hard for children to eat. I decided to set up a candy apple bar, in the hope that, they would be much easier for them to enjoy.

Items used:

Cored cut up apples

Sprinkles in several colors

Candy corn

Caramel Sauce

It’s pretty much as simple as it sounds. I put all the items out and let them do the decorating. I did advise them to use the caramel sauce first, so that all of the other goodies would stick. Since the apples were already cut into small pieces when they stared, they had no trouble eating them.

Creepy Crawling Details-

Who doesn’t love a few creepy details on Halloween? I decided to try something a little different from eyeballs in the Jello or spider webs in dark corners.

Items used:

Plastic Creatures

Ice Tray

Water

After the water freezes, you could do all sorts of things with the frozen creatures. They were fun in cups of juice or just to play with at the table. Obviously, once the ice melts, you want to be sure these don’t end up in the mouths of your children.

All of these projects came from ideas originally seen on Pinterest.com.
