“The average household contains about 62 toxic chemicals, say environmental experts. We’re exposed to them routinely — from the phthalates in synthetic fragrances to the noxious fumes in oven cleaners. Ingredients in common household products have been linked to asthma, cancer, reproductive disorders, hormone disruption and neurotoxicity.”
My children always want to help me clean… they want to spray, wipe, they love to help. Children want to do what you do.
I didn’t feel comfortable with three things…
* having toxic items in my home
* using these items to clean surfaces that my children have contact with
* not allowing my children to assist me
One day when my children asked again to clean, I decided I needed to go natural. I immediately pulled out almost every cleaning supply and threw it away. And than researched what I needed to start cleaning.
I smiled when I realized vinegar was one of the main components, because my mother always cleaned with vinegar.
Task this week: Gather all of your cleaning supplies, look at labels, does it say “hazardous to humans and domestic animals”… WHY would you want to clean your house with that. THROW IT AWAY, and do it today.
