Have you ever wondered who serves up the best Mexican, Middle Eastern or American food in town? Or what about family events and the places to host a party for kids or adults? Or even where all the good places are to take the kids to burn off energy and have fun? We wondered about all these undiscovered businesses too, which is what led us to launch Chowdown Great Lakes a journey to explore all the unique and fun establishments in our area. Chowdown Great Lakes’ mission is to help spread the word and introduce you to all our great finds through social media posts, engaging videos and our website. Through these platforms we will share with you all the great places there are to Eat, Drink, Play, and Stay in the Great Lakes region.

Making it all come to life through video are three vlogging teams. Kenzie & Chloe, who grew up in the Great Lakes Bay Region and have a passion for exploring new and exciting things to do and eat. Nate, a family man, lives in Saginaw and loves to create and edit amazing videos of his journey through life. And last, we have our Kids Crew, Lilly, and Ashley organized by me, their mom, along with being Chowdown’s digital marketing specialist.

As a mom of two young children, I am always looking for kid/family friendly activities, events, and restaurants and believe other moms are too.

When we first launched Chowdown Great Lakes, we didn’t have a Kids Crew. The concept came to me when I was at Timber’s Bar and Grill on State Street in Saginaw for a Facebook Live video. My oldest daughter Lilly jumped into action. I knew she always enjoyed being in videos, but I had no idea that she understood what mommy’s mission was. She was such a natural, I let her review her chicken tenders, and that’s how our Chowdown’s Kids Crew was born. As a mom of two young children, I am always looking for kid/family friendly activities, events, and restaurants and believe other moms are too. I hope you enjoy this Kid’s Crew video that we did during our visit to The Playground in Midland. If you’re not familiar with them, they are a giant indoor playground; think ‘fast food restaurant play area’ but on steroids.They have designated areas for kids under the age of 3 and say the ideal age for kids is infants to age 13. They even have a café with snacks and drinks. Chowdown’s Kids Crew gave The Playground and Café four thumbs up! We will be going back.
